I've always had a strange affinity for bees - they seem to be drawn to me, perhaps fittingly given my name Melissa, which means "honey bee" in Greek. While I find them adorable and interesting, I still do get a bit nervous around them. Luckily I've never been stung before and I hope to keep it that way. This piece features a close up of a delightfully fuzzy honey bee on a flower, paying tribute to the busy visitors that frequently buzz through my yard.
