Meet the Artist
Melissa, a pharmacist turned entrepreneur, is a self-taught professional artist from upstate New York. Her artistic journey began in childhood, when her father introduced her to doodling cartoons and Disney princesses on the back of paper placemats while dining at restaurants. Eventually, Melissa convinced her mom to purchase her her first acrylic paint set advertised on QVC, igniting a love for painting that would shape her future. After high school, she set aside her paint brush for 6 years to immerse herself in the rigorous world of math and science while pursuing a doctorate degree in pharmacy. Despite the demanding nature of her studies, she never fully abandoned her passion for art. As soon as she graduated, she eagerly dove back into her creative pursuits, rekindling the joy of painting and expression that had once defined her.
Today, Melissa's artistic journey is primarily focused on painting portraits, landscapes, and still lifes. Over the years, she has experimented with various painting styles, but her true passion lies in realism and impressionism, which are reflected in her work. Currently, her artworks adorn the walls of homes and businesses across the country and internationally.
Melissa now resides in Binghamton, NY with her husband and their beloved doberman pinscher. Beyond art, she is an avid reader, often losing herself in the pages of a captivating thriller. She is also a huge lover of animals especially dogs, and as a self-proclaimed foodie, she delights in exploring new culinary experiences during her travels.
